The exhibit tells the story of Black Tennis in America from 1874 to the Present. Curated by Dale Caldwell and Art Carrington, and originally sponsored by the International Tennis Hall of Fame, it’s a story of American persistence, resistance and excellence – a rich history in which Sportsmen’s has featured prominently since 1961.
Showcasing a portion of Art Carrington’s Historic Private Collection of Tennis Artifacts, and a Panel Discussion with Black Tennis Luminaries, this One Night Only Event celebrates our past while fundraising to bring the Exhibit home to Sportsmen’s, where it will live for the foreseeable future.
